LEAN PROCESS

RQ’s project delivery system is a production management-based approach to project delivery that affects the way work is done throughout the delivery process. The facility (the product) and its delivery process are designed together to better accomplish project goals. Work is structured throughout the process to maximize value and to reduce waste at the project delivery level. Efforts are aimed at improving total project performance, which is more important than reducing the cost or increasing the speed of any single activity. The focus shifts from maximizing the efficiency of the parts to the efficiency of the whole project.

Benefit of this Approach – We have learned that the production of work determines the ultimate schedule. By having a schedule to determine milestone dates and then closely monitoring work production, we can take corrective action early when work production forecasts don’t match project goals. We apply this principle to all of our processes including the design phase as well as RQ’s direct work in the field as well as helping coach and measure the production of our subcontractors.
