AGC-14-Acceptance

On March 5th, 2014, RQ Construction was awarded First Place in the Construction Safety Excellence Awards for Construction Management Under 500,000 work hours. The Associated General Contractors of America Construction Safety Excellence Awards program is sponsored by Willis, a leading provider of insurance, reinsurance and risk management services to the construction industry.

The purpose of the annual AGC Construction Safety Excellence Awards is to recognize those construction companies that excel at safety performance. The award process closely examines each candidate’s commitment to safety, occupational health management, and risk control.

RQ advanced to the National competition after being selected as one of the top three construction management finalists by a panel of judges at the Associated General Contractors Association Winter safety conference in Houston Texas earlier in the year. Final judging for the awards program took place during the Associated General Contractors of America annual convention in March. The finalists presented before and were further evaluated by a panel of five safety professionals representing government, department of defense, corporate, and insurance sectors. Earlier in the year RQ was awarded First Place in the Federal work division, 301,000-700,000 work hours, in the AGC San Diego Construction Safety Excellence program.

RQ’s safety maxim is “Salus Populi Suprema Lex” – the safety of the people is the Supreme Law. Fostering a culture of safety takes time, commitment, and effort. But the reward is immeasurable enabling our people and construction partners to work in a safe environment returning home unharmed each day.
