How do I receive an update on the status of my application?

I have received an email from a generic email address requesting my personal data. Is this legitimate?
It has come to our attention that there is an email scam misrepresenting RQ Construction Human Resources. The scam emails offer work-at-home Customer Service, Data-Entry, and similar positions. The sending email address is @gmail.com, @yahoo.com, @hotmail.com or other similar generic email address. One known alias is “Melissa Anders”. Do not reply to any such emails.
