Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I was born and raised right outside of Philadelphia, PA, and moved south when I was 19 when I joined the U.S. Coast Guard. I served in the Coast Guard for 6 years as a Boatswain Mate and was stationed in Key West, FL and Kings Bay, GA. After getting out of the Coast Guard in 2017, I decided to move 30 miles south of Kings Bay to Jacksonville, FL, which is where I currently reside. I’m currently taking online courses full-time with the American Military University and will graduate with a Logistics Bachelor’s degree in January 2020. In my free time, I enjoy taking my pontoon boat to Fort George Island with friends, playing golf (even though I can only hit the ball straight 1/10 times), and watching sports. Football is my favorite sport and, of course, I’m a fan of the best football team the world has ever seen, the Philadelphia Eagles.

How did you find RQ and why did you want to work for us?

I found RQ online on Indeed.com and decided to apply. After applying and receiving a call for a phone interview, I researched the company and found that their morals and values align with my own. I also looked up reviews that employees of RQ have left on Glassdoor.com and couldn’t find any negative reviews. I decided this company seemed like a great place to start a career and the company has proven that to me time and time again since I have started.

What is your current role at RQ?

I am the Assistant Logistics Manager in Jacksonville, FL. My main responsibilities are to track all materials that are going to be shipped to GTMO, ensure Customs paperwork is done correctly for the material we are shipping, and to send the highest priority material to GTMO so no projects are held up.

Fun thing you want to share about yourself that no one else might know?

One fun thing about me that some people may not know is that even though I’m not a dad, I am a dad joke connoisseur. For example, why doesn’t a koala count as a bear? It’s because they don’t have the KOALAfications!
